HPSS Privacy Policy

This policy covers the HPSS app for iPad and iPhone, published by Bits Matter Ltd. It explains what the app does with information, which is very little, and where that information goes.

HPSS collects no personal data and sends nothing to us. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no servers of its own. Everything it handles travels between your device and a Mac you choose, over your own local network.

What HPSS does

HPSS shows your Mac's screen on your iPad or iPhone and lets you control it, using the High Performance mode of macOS Screen Sharing. It connects directly to a Mac on the same local network. There is no intermediary service: the app talks to the Mac and to nothing else.

Nothing is sent to Bits Matter

The app does not contact Bits Matter Ltd or any third party. It contains no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising frameworks, and it does not use third-party software that collects data. We cannot see which Macs you connect to, what is on their screens, or how you use the app.

If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with aggregated usage statistics and crash reports. Apple collects these under its own privacy policy; they do not identify you and we cannot link them to you.

Permissions the app asks for

Security of the connection

Sign-in details, control messages and the screen stream are encrypted between the app and your Mac using the encryption built into macOS Screen Sharing's High Performance mode. They travel only across your local network. HPSS does not open any connection to the internet.

Children

HPSS is a utility for people who administer a Mac. It is not directed at children, and it collects no information from anyone.

Your rights

Bits Matter Ltd is based in the United Kingdom. Because the app does not send us personal data, we hold nothing about you to access, correct or delete. If you believe that is not the case, or you have any question about this policy, contact us and we will respond.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes what it does with information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top before the change ships.
