IoT Development
What we do
Most IoT projects fail in the gaps — between the hardware team, the app team and the cloud team, where nobody owns the whole path. We build all three, so the device, the connectivity and the back end are designed together rather than negotiated after the fact.
Problems we solve
Typical reasons clients come to us for this work:
- Hardware and software are being built by separate suppliers, and integration keeps slipping.
- A prototype works on the bench but won’t survive real-world power, connectivity or scale.
- Devices need to talk to the cloud reliably over patchy connections, without draining the battery.
- You have a proven concept and need it taken through to a manufacturable, supportable product.
- An existing fleet needs new features — video, sensing, remote configuration — without a hardware respin.
Who it’s for
- Hardware manufacturers adding connectivity or cloud features to an existing product line.
- Startups taking a sensor or device concept from prototype to production.
- Agencies who have won IoT work and need a delivery partner who can cover hardware as well as software.
- Companies whose IoT platform has outgrown its original architecture.
Technologies & capabilities
Hardware
Custom PCB design, Bluetooth and BLE, battery-powered sensor devices, soldering and bring-up.
Firmware
Embedded C and C++, real-time constraints, over-the-air update paths.
Connectivity
MQTT, AWS IoT Core, event-driven messaging, offline-tolerant sync.
Cloud
AWS serverless — Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, Kinesis, CloudFormation and Terraform.
Apps
Native iOS and Android clients in Swift and Kotlin for provisioning, control and monitoring.
How we deliver
1. Understand
We start with the hard part — the constraint the project actually turns on. Latency, power budget, data volume, regulatory limits. That is what shapes the architecture.
2. Prove
Where there is genuine technical risk, we prove it early with a focused prototype rather than discovering it late in the build.
3. Build
Iterative delivery with working software you can see. Test-driven where it earns its place, continuous integration throughout.
4. Harden
Scale, failure modes and cost. We design for intermittent connections, awkward data and real concurrency rather than the happy path.
5. Support
Handover that leaves you able to run it — infrastructure as code, documentation and, where wanted, ongoing help.

Frequently asked questions
Can you do the electronics as well as the software?
Yes. We design custom PCBs, write the embedded firmware and build the mobile and cloud layers on top. That end-to-end range is the main reason clients come to us for IoT rather than to a pure software house.
We already have hardware. Can you just do the cloud and app side?
Often that is exactly the engagement. We have picked up existing devices — including proprietary and ageing controllers — and built the connectivity, back end and apps around them.
How do you handle devices on poor connections?
We design for intermittent connectivity from the start: lightweight MQTT messaging, local buffering on the device, and back ends that treat late or out-of-order data as normal rather than exceptional.
Can you take a proof of concept to production?
Yes, and it is common work for us. We have taken bench prototypes and research code through to scalable architectures running as core parts of a client’s business.
